Detroit and beyond
November 10, 2009 11:07 AM PST
We carry on with the vibe from the intergalactic house sessions vol 1, with some deep house from around the globe. Most of the tracks hear have a detroit sensability with smooth jazz keys over tough beats. Theres also some wicked carnival style tunes here in the form of Trinidadian Deep, Another of the amazing Ron trents many guises. Again, I have really enjoyed putting this one together, could have quite easily put together a mix of everything new out there but alot of people already doing that so I hope you enjoy this journey through deep, soulful electronic sound, from Detroit and beyond. About MickyMick B is a member of a small band of D.Js from bournemouth that started a sound system about a year and a half ago that has gone from strength to stregth. We started of playing in small halls and and bars and with the help of some really supportive people we have gone on to play to large groups of people in marquees, at festivals and in some wicked clubs in and around the Bournemouth area. Mickys musical interests are Disco, Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House, Soul, Post Punk, Folk, Exotica, Reggae, Dub, Electronica and anything that moves your heart or your feet. Micky B started D.Jing around 20 years after hearing radio stations like centerforce and fantasy f.m playing acid house, Disco funk and jazz. I was just so into these sounds, I didnt know where to get the records from so had to tune in to hear this music. I remember trying so hard to get the signal some days, you had to stand with your arm out the window holding the arial as you recorded a 45 min side of a tdk tape. Great memories, Great music. Micky went on to play local pirate radio stations and guest slots with friend at local clubs in and aroud his native Essex where there was a health club scene evolving. Music has always been such a massive part of my life and dancing to those beats from the early chicago producers was just a dream to me. Micky has gone on to Evolve his record collection over the years and has recently been pushing the new house sounds from around the Globe. At the moment I am Listening to alot of productions from the franck roger stable, Really deep house sound with that wicked jazz element. Also listening to Karizma, Boy that mans dexterous. Am cheking Glenn Underground and the strictly jaz unit label, New jazz for the next millenium. Also checking your standards like Dilla, madlib, M F Doom and all manner of out there music. Feeling The Eglo crew out a London, Alex nut, Floating points, Funkineven, shanice and fatima, There pushing some great sounds at the moment. Just so much good music out there, Gonna need to put it in a podcast for you guys. Watch this space for podcasts containing deep house, Broken beat, Jazz and Funk, Disco and rare Groove and much, much more. Peace and love, Micky BBBBBBB. Fans of this ShowMicky's Friends
