I think that its an absolute shame that we work far to hard these days just to live and pay the bills, that we really forget whats important. What is Important to you ? I have been thinking recently how important music is to me and how much of an important roll it has played in my life. Mile stone's in my life often punctuated by a perticular track or song. I remember how much effort went in to getting that pirate radio station sounding crystal clear, how much blue tack and speaker cable it actually took to tune in to center force, phantasy or sunrise. My bedroom wall looked like a map of the London underground with speaker cable scrawled all over it. We eventually found the exact path to take across the bedroom walls with the cable, a number of different routes for each desired station depending on the mood. The late seventies had the punks, the late eighties heard the sound of early chicargo house make its way in to the charts with the likes of farley jackmaster funk and the voice of Daryl Pandy belting out that unforgetable line, "Now This is how it started, you left me broken hearted, but I want you". And for me it was around about that time that it started, my love affair with house music. Strange new sounds coming from over seas, Chicago and Detroit mainly. Over the years I have followed this Scene and watched it ebb and flow, watched its interest in popular culture come and go. I have seen how this music has influenced youth culture in the development of new genres of music almost organically, sometime developing before our ears unclassified and unlabled only to drift into obscurity leaving only a Rhythm to be remembered, a time, a place, a lyric. I am constantly on the listen for that new off kilter rhythm that might just push the envelope that step further and boom a whole new scene is born. Detroit is one of those citys that musically has always been a step ahead of the rest of the word and artists since the 40s and 50s have always borrowed from the pioneers that are native there. You can hear that heritage in mowtown through to Sound signature if you listen with open ears. I have created this mix for your listening pleasure at this festive time of year, a gift from me to you. Enjoy it if you will and pass it on that it may bring pleasure to your friends, spark memories of the past and evoke visons of the future. Hosue is alive and well and one of its true ambassador's is that city know as the DEE by those that live and work there. Most of the tracks in this mix have been imagined and created in this, one of the derelic industrial citys of the world. You can hear the yearning in some of the tracks here almost crying out to be heard by the rest of the world or the twisting metal of the motor city played out on a roland 303. Those words Hi Tech sould came to mind when putting this one together. Lay back and enjoy the vibes as they take over your soul. Happy Christmas to you all. One love, Micky B. A House mix with real heritage.

Heres a mix of some hot new joints I have picked up recently. House from start to finish, kicking off with a killer mix of fingers inc, can you feel it from one of my favorite producers of the moment John Daly. I have always loved this track and the man daly has breathed new life into this one, not that it needed it. The mix continues with some deep vibes from around the globe, containing track from Mario basanov, Art of Tones, Basic soul unit, Steve bug and many more. I truley got lost in this one and hope you do to. House is alive and well in the year 2011, and they said it was just a fad. 25 years on and still going strong. Thanks to all those pioneers of the early days, Larry Heard, Gene Hunt, Adonis, Farley, Ron Hardy to name just a few, and of course the new breed that carry the tourch into the new millenium and far beyond. It really is a way of life. Library funk, Guitar fuzz and Afro shuffling.

I was just so into these sounds, I didnt know where to get the records from so had to tune in to hear this music. I remember trying so hard to get the signal some days, you had to stand with your arm out the window holding the arial as you recorded a 45 min side of a tdk tape. Great memories, Great music. Micky went on to play local pirate radio stations and guest slots with friend at local clubs in and aroud his native Essex where there was a health club scene evolving. Music has always been such a massive part of my life and dancing to those beats from the early chicago producers was just a dream to me. Micky has gone on to Evolve his record collection over the years and has recently been pushing the new house sounds from around the Globe.
